Natural elements - air, followed by water - from within the human construction suddenly appear. Images and sounds take us into our civilization, where the flood of man and merchandise have replaced the flow of the rivers.
First envisioned as a live performance, Dream developed into a collaborative project between the video artist Olivier BLAECKE (aka Starsk) and the electronic music composer Johan Saurtereau (aka Teraar). This collaboration created an environment in which the music and video elements inspired the other to form a whole.
Filmed through hand-held camera, real life images were captured to create a montage of imagery. Punctuated by music, the resulting piece lies somewhere between veejaying, video art, and short film. This experimental "trip" invites the viewer to cast a new gaze on the outside world from beginning to an inevitable escape.
A wide-awake dream.
